Moorpark wildlife control tip of the month:

How to get Bats out of your attic

In order to effectively get rid of the bats in your attic, you should follow these 5 steps:

1. EXAMINATION. Start by examining bats routine: when do they leave the attic, when do they get back, are there any baby bats at presence? Are they leaving the attic in one colony or in groups? Try learning the exact Moorpark animal control species of the bats. Knowing this information will help you to understand their routine. Also, do not forget to examine the entrances that they use or may use in the future to get into the attic. Do they have one main entrance or more? Also, are there voids in your walls? Sometimes they might be hiding there and it is crucial to know this Moorpark pest control information before excluding them from the attic.

2. SEALING NON-PRIMARY ENTRANCES. After thorough examination of the house and bats routine, you can start sealing non-primary entrances through which they can invade when the primary entrance will be excluded. It is important to seal even the smallest holes in your roof or walls through which bats may get in. Be aware not to seal the primary entrance, otherwise bats will not have a way to get out at all and they will die in the attic leaving bad odor and creating hazardous environment for your family.

3. EXCLUDE THE BATS. When non-primary entrances are sealed it is time to install a net or a funnel. According to your building a proper Moorpark wildlife removal exclusion device must be used. Nets and funnels allow for the bats to easily get out from the attic and eliminate the way to get back in. It is very important to correctly install exclusion device so bats would not get hurt, killed or left in the attic.

4. SEALING PRIMARY ENTRACE. After all of the bats have left the attic, start a Moorpark animal trapping sealing process of the primary entrance. Check every small void or hole, making sure that bats would not return, because they may attempt to do so. Take the precaution of leaving a net or a funnel on for a while. Once in a while check for the holes in your house again.

5. CLEANING. If the colony was big it is crucial to clean their droppings and urine. Probably, they have left their feces in the walls too. To avoid bad odor and contamination, droppings should be vacuumed and attic must be fogged with a proper Moorpark exterminator cleaner.
